My alternator, for a 73 L-82, does not align with the crankshaft pulley. While trying to correct this problem I found the lower bracket pivot bolt hole has been "egged". The hole was bored out and a bushing installed. Now for the real problem; the alternator hole appears to be "egged" out as well. I am not "thrilled" about trying to bush the alternator hole to eliminate the out of roundness. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct the wobble that is created. I have found that the alternator stays aligned until I tighten the pivot bolt the last half turn, then the alternator pivots about 5-10 degrees.
