Today, I took apart my original '57 spring leaves. In the second leaf from the bottom small leaf I saw the letter "R" cast in two places inside the groove toward the edge of the groove. I know that the same leaf on the other side was a replacement so it didn't have anything on the groove. Do you know if the "R" denotes the side (for example "R" for Right side) of the car or is just the manufacturers (EATON Springs?) cast ID and both sides should have "R" rather than "R" and "L"?
Also, after I removed some black paint from the bottom leaf (the small with the part number "3711550" and date 248E6) I saw that it had yellow paint. Is that original paint?
Someone in the past had posted the specs for '57 spring leaves. I printed a copy, but I have misplaced it. Is it possible for that the person to repost the specs? I would appreciate your response. Thanks.
