My original distribution block (or tee, or y-block) between the fuel filter and the carb is kind of a discolored black, with two logos of some kind embossed on it. I ordered new lines and block from Eckler's and the block that came with it was brass, with no embossments. What color is original, and where might I get a realistic replacement? If no original looking replacement is currently available, how do I restore the original color to the old block?
Additionally, the fittings (nuts) on the new lines are all brass, but the originals are mostly steel colored. I say mostly because I recall one of the original lines has brass nuts, the rest steel. Did the L-78 come with both, making all brass acceptable, or are these "GM restoration parts" not quite as original?
I know this post might sound "anal", but most everything on my car is original, and I would like to keep it as close as possible in appearance to when it left the assembly line nearly 34 years ago (next month).
