Ok, I changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 208.67.220.220 and then rebooted the computer, but no soap. Still having the same problem. But since I can get to the main NCRS page and then into SERVICES and TECHNICAL DISCUSSION BOARD without having to log in each time, I'm not going to worry about it!

I think you found your issue with the link that included ?uid=4043

A good direct URL would be https://www.forums.ncrs.org/

If you bookmark that one it should work fine for you.

I wonder what changed though. Ever since I became a member several years ago, the https://www.forums.ncrs.org/?uid=4043 always worked.

Oh well. As long as I can get in I'm happy.

We did recently make a change to direct all pages to the https or secure link instead of the old http that was not secure.

We weren't necessarily worried about security on the Tech Board but Google changed there policy to give extra weight to sites that provided secure access to all of their content. We followed along in order to get the best Google placement we can.

The Store, Classifieds and Registration pages where members enter credit card information have always been secure.

I had the log-in problem last week, but it seems to have corrected itself with no input on my part. However when I now open NCRS I get a generic technical section rather that the C1/C2 forum as before. Has the NCRS format been changed? If so, where can I find an explanation?

There is no C1/C2 forum on the NCRS forums. This has not been changed. You may have selected the C1 or the C2 icon to sort all of the posts with the C1 or C2 icon included. Where you see at the beginning of a thread that means the person who started the thread was considerate enough to identify it for other C1 interested members to easily identify.
